My path into real estate started in a newsroom, not an open house. After years as a TV news producer, I wanted something that let my personality show more, and real estate had a low enough barrier to entry that I figured I'd give it a shot. Eight years later, it's turned into a career built almost entirely on repeat business, 70% of it comes from referrals.
Clients tend to describe me the same way: communicative, a hustler, enthusiastic. Communication is honestly my cheat code, I'd rather over-explain something than leave someone wondering. One of my favorite examples is a couple, Ingrid and Vern, who found me through an old Zillow lead after leaving a small town in Indiana to be closer to their grandkids. I found them a house, and Ingrid, a retired librarian, became a close friend. She still texts me book recommendations and gave my son his first baby blanket.
Some of that same hustle shows up off the clock. I sponsor and play in a weekly soccer league on Tuesdays, and I've sold five houses to people I met through it.
My wife, Stephanie, and I are raising two young sons and a 92-pound Bernese mountain dog named Wiggy (Ludwig). When I'm not working, I'm usually at a small concert venue, on a snowboard, or somewhere around Broad Ripple.
